1998, Erba – Italy

My name is Stefano, I am 19 years old, I live in Erba. I attend the first year of university.

I’ve been climbing since the age of 10 and I’m part of the Ragni di Lecco group. I was an athlete of the national youth team.

Among my best results was the youth world championship in the youth b category in 2013. I was also European champion in the boulder specialty (category b) and lead (category b and a). I also participated in world cup competitions with the major national team.

I love climbing a lot in the crag. I climbed routes up to 9th and 8b of boulder.

In March, Carnati, 17 at the time, made the third ascent of Adam Ondra’s Goldrake (9a + / 5.15a) at Cornalba in northern Italy. After that he also sent Action Directe in Germany. With his ascent, Carnati joins the ranks of the world’s best climbers-including Güllich, Dave Graham, Dai Koyamada, Adam Ondra, Jan Hojer, and Alex Megos, among others. Carnati’s the 20th known ascent of the test and the second Italian, after Gabriele Moroni in 2010.

Stefano Carnati finally joins the Ragni di Lecco. The young champion in climbing competitions and very strong climber on the rock will wear the famous Red Sweater of the best known alpinistic association after having already dressed the shirt of the sports team.
